Our Story
40 years ago Paul set out to reshape the industry as a customer‑family‑focused, affordable and more sustainably high‑quality business. Founder Paul Mundri started this venture from humble beginnings, selling live poultry door‑to‑door in Chatsworth, Durban. Later he moved into sheep offal products because he worked as a clerk at the Cato Ridge abattoir. The business then shifted to processing and trading sheep offal at the Bangladesh Market, Unit 3, Chatsworth, where it’s operated for over 30 years.
In 2010, Paul's children Shantel, Kalvin and son in law Shaun decided to expand into Gauteng and founded Paul’s Fisheries, trading at the Actonville Flea Market in Benoni. In 2017 Paul’s Fisheries launched an online store – atpauls.co.za – offering door‑to‑door delivery to most areas in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Witbank, Middleburg, Secunda, Trichardt, Kinross & Evander. This was the first of its kind to sell unique products online with safe, convenient personal delivery.
In 2020 Paul’s Fisheries opened a home store in Brakpan, Gauteng to help during the Covid‑19 lockdown; the store has stayed open for the local community ever since. In 2022 the brand transformed into a Durban Indian specialty grocer with the Edenvale store opening, resulting in the re‑branding to @PAUL’S. The company now sources the best exotic, export‑quality products, serving Gauteng & Mpumalanga with top‑tier items and optimum service for the past 16 years. As a family‑run business it builds personal relationships, understands customer needs and delivers on its promise of high‑quality, value‑add products.
